Ashes of Roses

WOW this was an AWESOME BOOK!!! I, Jellybeans, do not usually enjoy reading historical fiction, but this was different. This was one of the best books I have ever read.
Ashes of Roses, by Mary Jane Auch, is about a girl named Rose and her family, from Ireland, trying to immigrate to America. While on Ellis Island, Rose's little brother Joseph and her father must go back to Ireland. Rose, her mother, and 2 sisters must go to stay at their Uncle Patrick's house, with his snooty wife and children. When things are not going very well, Rose's family decides to go back to where they came from. Rose does not want to though, so she convinces her mother to let her stay, with her little sister Maureen, and they meet headstrong Gussie, who works at the Triangle Shirtwaist factory, and helps Maureen and Rose get jobs. But when a fire takes over the building, Rose and her friends must fight for their lives.
So will they live?
P.S. If you say that the main characters never die, you might want to rethink that.
