And the Winners are..

Ok... As you probably know, I set up a poll on which you could vote on your favorite Rebeca Caudill books. And the winners are...
The Thing About Georgie
The White Giraffe
Emma-Jean Lazarus Fell Out of A Tree

We had a 3 way tie between those books. I liked The White Giraffe and Emma Jean best out of those though.

Twice Upon a Time

I have read Twice Upon A Time : Rapunzel the One with All the Hair and it was one of the best fantasy books I have EVER read! This is another version of Rapunzel, I mean, who said it DIDN'T happen this way!? Anyway, this is about Rapunzel being rudely taken away from her home on her birthday and being trapped in a tower, and about Prince Benjamin wanting to have a song written about him and being trapped in a castle. But when their two paths cross, everything changes, and Rapunzel gets hope of being rescued. This is a charming book, and anybody could enjoy it! I have read it at least 5 times. I always want to keep reading.

Nancy Drew

Have you seen the Nancy Drew movie? If not, I think that I would recommend it to somebody. This movie is filled with adventure, as well of mystery of course. The movie is about a small town girl named Nancy Drew, going to an old house for a stay, and having some strange stories be uncovered .This was a really good movie, in my opinion, but I think that the only reason I liked it was because it was mystery, adventure, and had a little ghost parts in there. I am a fan of all of those.
To me, this movie would be a 5 out of 5 rating.

Chicken Soup

CHICKEN SOUP FOR A CAT LOVER'S SOUL IS COOOOOL!
Even though I have not finished this book yet, it is pretty good. It has lots of stories from cat owners about cat experiences they have had. Some of these stories are sad, with cats dying, but some are really funny and interesting to read. I thought that this is a good read, with many short stories. This may seem like a weird book, but is a very interesting book. So far, 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Jade Green

Jade Green was a FABULOUS book, by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor.
This book is the story of a knife, a picture frame, a hand, and a girl. Not to mention the color Green. This is a ghost story and I could not put the book down the whole time I was reading it. There were some mysterious twists to the book, and to me, it freaked me out in some parts. This book was scary, and had as much mystery to the book as the title.
I think I would rank this book a 5 out of 5. This was probably the best ghost story I have ever read, and I have read a lot of ghost stories. READ THIS NOOOOW!!!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Lightning Thief movie

OK. Here is what I thought about this movie.
I thought that this movie had absolutely nothing to do with the book except for the characters and some of the events. Many of my favorite scenes were not there in the movie, and tons were added, and some changes were made in this movie from the book. Annabeth looked nothing like she was described in the books. And Annabeth fought with a sword in some scenes and in the book she never fought with a sword, period. She always had a knife.
The graphics were pretty good and in some parts it was an exciting movie, but in my honest opinion, this movie was BAD.
I think that this is a 2 out of a 5 stars, but that is just my opinion.

Someone Named Eva

Read Someone Named Eva! This book was recommended to me by the same person many times. It is fabulous Rebecca Caudill 2010 book and was about a Czech girl named Milada, who is suddenly whisked away from her home in the dead of night, along with her grandmother, mother, father, big brother, and baby sister. She is separated from her family, being sent to a center that trains girls like Milada with blonde hair and light colored eyes. At the center, she is renamed Eva, and trains there for about 2 years. She is soon adopted by a Nazi family, with a new sister, mother, brother, father, ans mother. Read this book to find out if Milada, also know as Eva, will ever be reunited with her family. I thought that this was a rally good book and was a 6 star out of 5.

Home of the Brave

I am trying to read most of the Rebeca Caudill books, and I just read Home of the Brave. It was a pretty good book in my opinion, and I think that I would recommend it to somebody. It is written in form of a poem on each page. Not with rhyming and all but like this...
Home Of the Brave
was a very good book
for somebody who likes
to learn about
troubles of other
people during war.
The whole book is written like that. This book will keep you reading so you may never want to put
Home of the Brave down until you are finished!

Julius Caesar

I know all of you are sighing about how boring Shakespeare's plays are. Even though many schools read this in class, it is not boring like other stuff you read in school. This play is about the death of Julius Caesar, an ambitious man who wants to be leader. The conspirators, the anti-Caesar folks, are plotting to kill Caesar. This tragedy made me laugh at times :), but it also was very depressing at times. Read this Shakespearan play!

Crossing the Wire

For those of you who are not fantasy lovers, this book will be perfect for you. It is a "historical/realistic" fiction book about a boy who is trying to "cross the wire" and enter the States from Mexico. It highlights a controversial issue today about Mexicans coming illegally to the US. Read this book to hear about this from a different point of view!

Ender's Game

Andrew "Ender" Wiggin is a little boy who must save the world from strange creatures called buggers. First, he must go to the Battle School: a school where he must be trained. He has trouble getting along with the other children, as he is much better than them. Read this book to find out whether the Earth gets destroyed and what happens to Ender Wiggin!

All American Girl by Meg Cabot

This is a really good book about a girl named Samantha Madison who has a popular sister, but she is not popular. She's also in love with her sister's boyfriend. The Thing About Georgie

The thing about Georgie is a book about a dwarf named Georgie, and his troubles, much different than other kids. It is a Rebecca Caudil winner and is was a fairly good read in my opinion. LISA GRAFF is the author of this book. Read it!

Skullduggery Pleasant

Have you read the Skulduggery Pleasant series? No? Well you must! It is about a butt kicking, snappy dressing, clever skeleton detective, the TOP detective in Ireland!!! He and his sidekick, Valkyrie (not the movie Valkyrie), must stop evil dudes every day! The author is the wonderful DERIK LANDY and the fourth Skulduggery Pleasant is coming out in April 2010.
