The Emily Windsnap Series

The Emily Windsnap series consists of four books, The Tail of Emily Windsnap, Emily Windsnap and the Monster of the Deep, Emily Windsnap and the Castle in the Mist, and Emily Windsnap and the Siren's Secret. Me, I'm in the middle of the first book, but plan to read the whole series this summer. Basically, Emily Windsnap is a 12 year-old girl who lives with her mom on a houseboat. Emily has never been totally emersed in water. She's never swam before. When she goes to swim class at school she discovers something astonishing.

The Alchemyst

Magic, twins, and more magic. Twins Sophie and Josh Newman are sucked into a magical world, when the Alchemyst Nicholas Flamel is in a fight, and they witness it. The ancient book, the Codex, is stolen, by Dr. John Dee, except two pages. Dee will stop at nothing to get those two most important pages. The Codex contains the secrets to eternal life, and the philosophers stone. Sophie and Josh are dragged on an adventure with Flamel and Scathach, a legendary Irish woman warrior, and a vegetarian vampire, to all different places. They meet the goddess Hekate, and she realizes the Sophie and Josh have the rarest aura's seen for a while. Gold and Silver. The Codex refers to them in it, and that means the they will either save the world, or destroy it. Which? Hekate awakens Sophie's powers, but not Josh. Now Sophie must learn how to control her powers. Dee is after them. Will the world end? Not even I know yet. I finished the book, but there is a sequel.

Don't Stop Believin'

Hey! Skittlez here. Last week my school had its last chorus concert of the year. One song we sang was "Don't Stop Believin'" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ffuCVLECpY) Our teacher had hired a choreographer to teach us a dance to do while singing. We last saw her April 15, 2010. The next night, she was killed in a tragic car/train accident. We continued to sing and reherse the dance to the song in her honor. Next time you listen to "Don't Stop Believin'", think of her...R.I.P Katie Lunn.

Hello! My name is Jellybeans, and something weird is happening to me now!!! whoa!!! *world goes fuzzy*

MY name is Korinna, and my parents are traitors.These Jews. In my own house! And my own mother, helping them?! Who can I trust? Rita, my best friend. No wait, her brother! Nope.  Sophie and her little 5 year old daughter Rachel are behind my wardrobe. Poor them, for the father and older sister are somewhere else. NO!!! What am I doing? Why am I, a loyal German, feeling sorry for these, these, these Jews? Am I supposed to report my parents? I should, but no, they are my parents. I'm in SHOCK here. What should I do? I am happy Hitler is coming, for he is  a wonderful man, but I'm scared, that he will find the Jews and kill us all. I have come to like Rachel, and her drawings. What am I doing? Why do I talk about them this way? What's wrong with me???

Savvy

Do you have a Savvy? If, you do not think you do, then WRONG! If you think yes, then... congratulations! You just won a new car with no engine!!! Great job.
Savvy, is a Rebecca Caudill 2011 nominee, and was absolutely amazing. It is easy to remember characters, but at first, the book will be a tad confusing.
Mibs is nearing her 13th birthday, which means discovering her Savvy; her magical power. Her mother's is that she is perfect, Fish(brother) controls weather sometimes, and Rocket is electrical. A few days before Mibs birthday, disaster strikes. Her beloved Poppa has been in a terrible car crash, and has not woken up. Mibs knows she needs to get down there to wake him, pronto. So she, Rocket, Fish, Samson(another brother), Will(boy who has a crush on her) and Bobbi(his sister) tag along on a pink Bible selling bus. Lester, the driver, will help them get to where they need. But obstacles come up. Mibs new savvy (I REFUSE to tell you what it is) helps out, and so do Rockets, Fish's, and Samson's (his Savvy came up early). Does Poppa wake up? What's Mibs new Savvy? Is it awesome? (Ok yeah it is pretty awesome)

I literally could not put the book down, and finished it is one night. Hee hee.

Once a Witch

This book is AMAZING!
It's about a girl named Tamsin who's family all has "Talents" or magical powers. Tamsin is the only one who does not have one. One day a man comes in to her family's bookstore and mistakes Tamsin for her powerful sister, Rowena, and asks her to find an item (which is more important than it seems at first) for him; Tamsin accepts the offer. Meanwhile, her cousin Gabriel finally comes home after 10 years ... and they get along very well. Read this book to find out what happens to Tamsin and her family ... they are in grave danger at one point ...

Anyway ... just READ THE BOOK! It's 300 pages ... but it will keep you engrossed the whole time.

Capricorn Anderson has no idea what television is, or even 911. Cap one day gets arrested, for underage driving (but he knows how) then released because the police felt sympathy or something. Rain (his grandmother) fell out of a tree, and injured her hip, and was in the hospital. So Cap must stay with a different family, and sent to a public school. cap is voted eight grade president, and the eight grade president is the biggest loser, but little do they know that Cap will be the best President ever. Though Cap is teased, he finds friends, and since he is a hippie, learns other ways and teaches other ways. When Rain recovers, Cap supposedly disappeared, and now everyone is out to find him, though it is thought that he is long dead.

Not literally. That is the name of a fairly good book, and also the name of the soon to open cupcake shop in the book. This entertaining book is about a girl named Isabel. She has always dreamed of getting out of her small hometown, Willow Oregon, and wants to travel the world. She soon sees her chance, in a magazine that is advertising a baking contest. She must come up with a winning recipe and then the finalists get to fly of to NEW YORK!!! Isabel is so happy, until her BFF enters. Everything always seems to go Sophies way. Will Isabel get this big chance to follow her dream? Figure it out your self!
