Life As We Knew It

Life As We Knew It is the first book of The Last Survivors series.

Life As We Knew It is told through entries from the diary of sixteen year old Miranda as her, and everyone else in the world's life is turned upside down. It all started on May 18th. Astronomers had been predicting a meteor hitting the moon, big enough to see a crater. But the meteor caused much more. The moon was knocked closer to the Earth triggering tsunamis, volcano eruptions, and other chaos all around the world. The power isn't at all dependable, food and water supplies are diminishing, dozens of people die everyday. Sure, summer is rough without any air conditioning, but winter is an even bigger threat. With so many tragic events, it's getting harder and harder for Miranda to remember life as she knew it.

8/10 I really loved this book. For one thing, I liked the format; how it was in diary entry form. I guess I enjoy books about survival. Oh and this has officially changed my perspective on science fiction. I can't wait to read The Dead and the Gone.

Linger

Linger by Maggie Stiefvater is the second book of The Werewolves of Mercy Falls series (Don't read if you haven't read the first book)

Sam is cured, Jack is dead, Olivia is a wolf until spring comes. Sam and Grace believe that they can now both live as humans with no werewolf complications. But when a new wolf, Cole, marches into their lives things only get harder. Cole is convinced that if he can just stay a wolf, all the problems of his past will be solved. Isabel, who has lost her brother, is drawn to Cole, but Cole can't exactly say he feels the same way. Beck is a wolf now, and there's a good chance he'll stay that way, so Sam is now pretty responsible for the pack. Grace and Sam fight to stay together, even if Grace has to defy her parents, who have found out about Sam's nightly stays. But Grace has been getting sick a lot lately, and she and Sam try not to believe their worst fear of what it may mean. Did Grace being locked in a car really cure her? Is Sam really cured?

7.5/10 I like Shiver better than this, but Linger was still good. I did like how the story was told in not only Grace and Sam's point of view, but Isabel's and Cole's too.
